As the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) is implemented in Klang and in the Sandakan, Papar, and Tuaran districts of Sabah to contain outbreaks of COVID-19 cases, the Government will ensure that economic activities are not unduly restricted in order to safeguard livelihoods and employment during these trying times.
Therefore, it has been decided that all commercial vehicles that transport goods will be allowed to operate and travel as normal during the CMCO in Klang and the aforementioned districts in Sabah districts. This includes vehicles related to businesses such as worker buses.

Effective from 5th October 2020, MM2H Participant who is stranded abroad and wishes to re-enter Malaysia is no longer required to register and obtain approval from the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC). The procedure to re- enter Malaysia will be managed by the Immigration Department of Malaysia.
The transition of roles is to standardize Government agency procedures as well as to ensure effective and efficient services to the customers involved.

Following the announcement of the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) and Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) in several locations nationwide, the Ministry of International Trade & Industry (MITI) wishes to call upon all companies in Malaysia to register on the business database system called the COVID-19 Intelligent Management System (CIMS).
Registration is to ease inspections made by the Royal Malaysian Police (RMP) who will be using this system as their reference point before authority to operate will be given to the relevant companies.

On 6 October 2020, AMCHAM held a topical webinar on ‘Building for the Future’. This session looked into the design, technology, and practices that enable built environments to progress even further in an attempt to achieve greater work efficiency and an environmentally friendly Malaysia.
Michael Doring, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Turner International gave an overview about ‘Green Buildings’, particularly those developed by Turner. Bill Carlson, APAC Integration Manager at Haskell Malaysia went into the technical aspect of virtualizing the construction landscape through technology. David Hashim, Founder, Group President, and Director of VERITAS Design Group spoke about the concept of resilience within the built environment and why it matters and what to consider moving forward.
Overall, the session was a success as we learn more about the built environment and how to incorporate resilience and elements of sustainability into it.
