Today, 20 November, AMCHAM brought together expert speakers from EY and Wong & Partners a member firm of Baker McKenzie, to provide a special briefing on Malaysia’s Budget 2021 tax initiatives.
Amarjeet Singh, EY ASEAN Tax Leader, Tax Managing Partner, provided the opening and an overview of the current tax announcements on the budget. Sharon Yong, Partner, International Tax and Transaction Services and Gary Ling, Partner, Financial Services Transfer Pricing, of EY, went into detail on important matters related to MNCs here in Malaysia.
In the second half of the session, Jason Liang, Partner from Wong & Partners, touched on the tax disputes angle highlighting key areas that organizations should be focusing on and preparing for, in light of the government’s increased targets in tax collections.
