– Helping people in need
Micron Malaysia makes a difference to the vulnerable communities in Malaysia
Over the course of the Movement Control Order (MCO), Micron Malaysia joined hands with AMCHAM for the COVID-19 initiative to support the front liners and the local communities in need.
The contribution is funded by the US$600,000 (2.6 million ringgit) donation that Micron pledged to Malaysia in March, as part of the company’s larger US$10 million COVID-19 Relief Fund.
Together with AMCHAM, Micron Malaysia coordinated the disbursements of the funds through a selected group of organizations, including Rotary Club of Muar, Rotary Club of Sg Petani, Rotary Club of Butterworth, Accelerate Global, EPIC Homes, School for the Mentally Retarded Children (Penang) and Refuge for the Refugees.
These organizations directly impact the B40, refugees, Orang Asli and the stateless communities – helping them to ease the burden caused by the pandemic.
Other initiatives included providing medical and personal protective equipment, such as ventilators, jumpsuits, face masks, sanitizers and gloves to several local government and beneficiary hospitals with critical needs, and distributing financial aid and additional support through food and household items, masks and sanitizers to children’s charities and homes for the elderly.
All in all, over three hundred families in need, 11 charitable homes, four hospitals and over 150 schools have been positively touched by Micron during the COVID-19 pandemic. To date, Micron team members have volunteered more than 277 hours (34.5 total working days) to the COVID-19 relief efforts in Malaysia.

– Bridging the digital divide
Microsoft Malaysia: Empowering socio-economic development with technology
Our vision at Microsoft is to help every person and organization on the planet achieve more. This is a vision we pursue tirelessly, making sure nobody is left behind as we head into the digital future.
Our commitment extends to every corner of the globe, ranging from issues such as accessibility, environmental sustainability, and talent growth. In Malaysia, we demonstrated our commitment through the launch of DELIMA, or ‘Digital Educational Learning Initiative Malaysia’.
Stemming from a long-standing partnership with the government and industry players, this one-stop digital learning platform allows educators and students nationwide to access an array of digital productivity tools, providing much needed support for remote learning measures and accelerating the digital transformation of the nation’s education system.
Similarly, the She Builds Peace campaign was launched earlier this year to celebrate female empowerment and to reflect on the courage and commitment of women Peacebuilders. Part of a global initiative, the campaign encouraged Malaysian women to participate in peacebuilding efforts locally and internationally, showcasing inspirational examples of women who have succeeded in creating sustainable peace in countries who had been stricken with conflict.
Microsoft’s commitment also extends to those who are differently abled, as we continue to stride towards a more inclusive world using new technologies to level the playing field for everyone. In 2019, Microsoft hosted its first-ever “AI for Accessibility hackathon” in Malaysia, which saw teams of IT professionals, university students and young developers working side-by-side with universities, international organizations, start-ups and non-profit organizations to tackle more than 23 different problem statements. Held in collaboration with the Malaysia Federation of the Deaf (MFD), the hackathon was an inspiring reflection of the good that come from technology – motivating us to continue doing what we do, to help the world achieve more.

#MDLZChangemakers is Mondelēz International’s global volunteering initiative, empowering our colleagues to make meaningful contributions to local communities and the environment. By focusing on locally-relevant areas, we ensure that our efforts create a lasting and positive impact on both people and the planet. Through Changemakers, our employees have numerous opportunities to live our Purpose, making a difference both within and beyond the workplace.
In 2025, we expanded our partnership with MyKasih Foundation under the #MDLZPrihatin initiative to extend our support to 25 women home bakers from 15 the previous year, empowering them to build better livelihoods for their families.
Our signature social impact program, Trash Right, aimed at educating children on recycling and sorting plastics, also went national in its third year, reaching 12 schools in 4 states. In 6 months, the children have collected over 20 metric tonnes of plastic waste which will be diverted for recycling.
Additionally, our ongoing partnership with Food Aid Foundation has allowed us to donate over 23 metric tonnes of products in 2025.

– Longest-serving FREE mobile health screening CSR program across the whole of Malaysia targeting underserved and underprivileged communities,
Pfizer Malaysia’s Care-A-Van was launched in 1998. Since then, it has accelerated around Malaysia establishing itself as one of Malaysia’s longest-running mobile health resource offering free health screenings to underserved communities including urban poor as well as remote populations. To-date, the Care-A-Van team of almost 1070 volunteers has touched the lives of over 156,000 Malaysians across 800 locations.
Through our health screening events, a total of 104,594 data were available for analysis with 84,197 adult participants.1 Alarmingly, 44% were overweight and obese. Only 13.6% of adults reported existing hypertension but a larger 24.4% were found with high blood pressure during screening. Similar trend was found when only 7.6% reported existing hypercholesterolemia but 38% were screened with high cholesterol. These worrying numbers are consistent with the findings of National Health and Morbidity Survey 2019.2 Further health education and screening must be conducted to empower Malaysians to take charge of their health.
With endorsement by the Ministry of Health and strengthened by strategic partnerships from similarly aspired organizations including academic institutions, NGOs and patient advocacy groups, Care-A-Van is dedicated to fulfilling the unmet needs of the population. Care-A-Van is continuously expanding and improving its services by embarking into breast cancer and mental health screening, as well as leveraging our invaluable data and resources to conduct substantial research with multiple stakeholders.
Through these efforts and the tagline “Caring for Malaysia”, Care-A-Van is proud to drive Pfizer’s purpose of bringing Breakthroughs that Change Patients’ Lives and supporting Malaysia’s efforts to reach the Sustainable Development Goal of ensuring healthy lives and promote well-being for all.
