Mandatory sustainability disclosure requirements are rapidly emerging across the world. APEC economies are leading the adoption of global standards established by the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) and could set the benchmark on how sustainability disclosure is regulated globally. So far, Australia, China, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Singapore, and others are developing or implementing reporting requirements.
This one-hour webinar will discuss the importance of sustainability reporting to the green transition in the Asia-Pacific, review recent regulatory developments in the region, and discuss how a harmonized approach to sustainability disclosure can support business, investor, and sustainability goals. Insights from the webinar will inform the APEC Business Advisory Council’s recommendations to Finance Ministers and Leaders.
This event is free to attend, all participants will abide by the Chatham House Rule, and the meeting is closed to press. If you have questions, please contact Nicole Vukonich, Policy Director, NCAPEC.

On Thursday night, July 18, AMCHAM hosted the InterChamber Networking event at Crowne Plaza, Kuala Lumpur. This event was a collaborative effort between seven business chambers: AMCHAM, the European Chamber of Commerce in Malaysia (EuroCham), the Malaysian French Chamber of Commerce (CCIFM), the Malaysian-German Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MGCC), the Malaysian Dutch Business Council (MDBC), the British Malaysian Chamber of Commerce (BMCC), and the Malaysia Australia Business Council (MABC).
With over 140 attendees, this networking session provided a valuable platform for members from each chamber to connect and strengthen relationships while enjoying excellent food and drinks.
A big thank you to the six partner Chambers and the Crowne Plaza Kuala Lumpur for supporting this epic gathering and contributing to the event’s success. We eagerly anticipate the next InterChamber Networking

Recently Citi Malaysia concluded their Global Community Day; where Citi volunteers engaged in a month-long community work with partner NGOs; IDEAS Autism Centre Rawang (IAC), Buku Jalanan Chow Kit (BJCK), Persatuan Komuniti Istimewa Ampang (SCSOA) and The Financial Industry Collective Outreach (FINCO).
Over 500 Citi Malaysia employees, their friends and families volunteered at this annual tradition joining thousands of others for this worldwide community engagement. The NGOs that were chosen are advocates for underprivileged children, autistic and children with special needs, displaced youth, and underserved schools. Citi volunteers assisted in educational and recreational activities with autistic and special needs children from IAC and SCSOA, tutored Mathematic lessons at BJCK, engaged in community clean-ups with all NGOs and organized a book drive event with FINCO.
This year, apart from monetary and contribution in-kind, Citi donated its repurposed desktops and monitors to selected underserved schools in Kuala Lumpur and Penang in partnership with FINCO. In addition, Citi volunteers successfully fundraised and donated TVs, android tablets, books and bookshelves, food supplies, daily essentials, and household appliances to partnering NGOs.
