On February 27, AMCHAM hosted a webinar on “Understanding the New U.S. Administration”, to explore the policy shifts and executive actions shaping both domestic and international business landscapes in President Trump’s second term.

Expert speakers Alex Tarascio (Cygnal) and Terry Haines (Pangea Policy) provided valuable insights into key policy priorities, their potential impact on businesses in Asia, and evolving public sentiment in the U.S. The discussion allowed attendees to gain a deeper understanding of the latest ongoing policy developments and directly engage with the experts.

On February 25, AMCHAM hosted our Johor InterChamber Networking event at Amari Hotel Johor Bahru, in collaboration with three business chambers: Malaysia Dutch Business Council (MDBC), CCI France Malaysia (CCIFM), and Malaysia Australia Business Council (MABC).

On February 25, AMCHAM, in collaboration with TalentCorp, hosted an in-person briefing at Amari Hotel Johor Bahru for our Johor members on the newly introduced 1:3 Internship Policy.

The session provided clarity on the policy’s implications for the hiring ratio of interns to Expatriates within the local workforce landscape.

On February 18, 2025, AMCHAM engaged in a productive dialogue with YB Nik Nazmi, Minister of Natural Resources, Environment, and Sustainability (NRES), alongside the Minerals and Geosciences Division, to explore Malaysia’s evolving role in the critical minerals and rare earth sector.

This discussion deepened our understanding of the industry’s landscape and identified avenues where AMCHAM can provide meaningful support.

On February 21, 2025, AMCHAM’s Human Capital Committee held an engaging webinar on Risk-Proofing the Workplace: Policy Awareness & Dispute Prevention.
