Honeywell’s innovations help to make our world cleaner and more sustainable, more secure, connected, energy efficient and productive; a world where people and organizations have the tools to be even more successful. Nothing is as important as ensuring a clean, safe, and healthy environment for our families, colleagues, neighbors, and communities for many years to come. Honeywell’s corporate social responsibility initiative, Honeywell Hometown Solutions (HHS) offers corporate citizenship programming, provides resources and financial support to those in need and encourages employee volunteerism where we can make a real, lasting impact in critical areas of importance to our communities. HHS focuses on these five areas – Science & Math Education; Family Safety & Security; Housing & Shelter; Habitat & Conservation; and
Humanitarian Relief.
At Honeywell, we understand the importance of inspiring and preparing the next generation of science and math leaders. In ASEAN, our STEM initiatives have inspired more than 60,000 students via various programs of which includes the Honeywell Educators at Space Academy (HESA) program, Honeywell Leadership Challenge Academy (HLCA) and Honeywell Institute for Science & Engineering Program (HISE). Other initiatives include education kits, workshops,
scholarship opportunities as well as the establishment of Honeywell University Control Labs which allow students and faculties to simulate, learn and develop smart building systems via Honeywell-provided modules and software.
In addition, Honeywell continues to run programs that help protect loved ones; rebuild and improve homes, schools and communities; provide hands-on support for a cleaner, safer and healthier environment; as well as help communities and employees recover from natural disasters.

Cleantech Solar is a solar developer that finances, constructs, owns and operates solar projects. They are headquartered in Singapore and operate across Pan Asia, focusing on long-term investments within the commercial and industrial customer segments.
Cleantech Solar, one of the newest member of AMCHAM, organized a session on September 18, to brief members on the latest development in the solar and renewable energy world. They also shared case studies of companies like Coca-Cola, Kellogg, Cognizant and Becton Dickinson adopting solar-as-a-service in Malaysia as well as in the wider Asia region.
Members benefited from the session and they felt it was an informative session. AMCHAM would like to thank all our members and guests for their participation.

On September 13, AMCHAM welcomed from Washington D.C. Mr. John P. Leonard, Executive Director (Trade Policy & Programs) at U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
John talked AMCHAM members through a range of topical issues, including some of the most recent trade directives given by the U.S. Administration to his agency. Also covered were the CBP’s latest antidumping initiatives, enforcement challenges encountered through globalized e-commerce and the rapid increase in the volume of international small shipments, and opportunities for U.S. collaboration with ASEAN on the regulatory infrastructure around international trade.
Our thanks to John and to AMCHAM members who contributed to this lively discussion!
