Energy Transition Committee
The Energy Transition Committee (ETC) was established in March 2023 after AMCHAM’s CleanTech Forum hosted collaboration with the U.S Embassy in Malaysia, which generated a good amount of discourse on Clean Energy and its potential. The committee aims to support Malaysia’s aspiration towards 2050 net zero carbon in making Malaysia a key industry player in energy transition.
The committee’s current aim is to advocate for a robust carbon capture and storage (CCS) industry and a comprehensive legal framework that addresses both locally produced and imported CO2 emissions.
The committee hosts a series of meetings and initiatives on various topics of energy transition and renewable energy throughout the year. Meetings for the committee are held monthly.
