“No one is Safe until everyone is Safe” – YB Azmin Ali

Vaccination of economic frontliners will be the country’s best proactive move to drive the economic recovery and ensure Malaysia retains its critical position in many global value chains. With today’s launch of the Public-Private Partnership Industrial COVID-19 Immunisation Programme (PIKAS) program, the ministries of MITI, MoH and MOSTI are working together with industry to deploy vaccines to the more active parts of the economy.

Two vaccination center (PPV) models offered under PIKAS were launched on 16 June 2021. In Selangor, a single company PPV vaccinated around 300 employees at the Texas Instruments Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. site in Ampang, Selangor; it was visited by Prime Minister Tan Sri Mahiaddin Yassin.

Additionally, the PPV at Bukit Jawi Golf Resort in Penang, involving 21 local and international companies in Batu Kawan, started its first day of vaccinations today as well. This PPV was initiated by a group of companies spearheaded by AMCHAM member, Micron Memory Malaysia.

AMCHAM’s CEO Siobhan Das, was proud to witness the Texas Instruments launch alongside the hard working teams that came together to make it happen.
