KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia is making the right progress towards a high-income nation, as its economy continues to go through reforms and grow strongly, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said.
“Our economy continues to prosper, and we are stronger than ever as a result of the reforms and the programmes the Government has put in place,” the Prime Minister pointed out on Tuesday.

AIG’s Asia Pacific Legal Team earned accolades at the 2017 In-House Community Counsels of the Year Awards. The AIG Team received two awards: Industry Team of the Year in the Insurance category and International Legal Team of the Year for Asia.
To determine the award winners, a panel of independent judges evaluated 69 companies’ in-house legal teams on qualities including dedication, innovation, efficiency and value, and corporate social responsibility and diversity.
Pamela Yeo, AIG’s Senior Vice President and General Counsel for Asia Pacific, explained that the Asia Pacific Legal Team’s “professional excellence, close collaboration,” and “staunch partner[ship] with the business” contributed to the Team’s strong performance. Yeo also praised the Team for their ability to “bring creative solutions to the table” and “build efficient and effective work processes.”
Christine Tam, Associate General Counsel for APAC, and Peter Gregoire, General Counsel for Hong Kong, accepted the awards on behalf of the Team at the In-House Community Awards, held in Hong Kong this May.
Comprised of over 21,000 legal and compliance professionals across Asia, the Middle East, and North Africa, the In-House Community helps members of the legal and compliance community meet high standards in their legal, ethical, and compliance commitments.
