There has been great anticipation over the past few years on the proposed amendments to be made to the existing Employment Act 1955 (“Act”) in Malaysia. The Employment (Amendment) Bill 2021 (“Bill”) to amend the Act was tabled in Parliament for first reading on 25 October 2021. The Star Newspaper in Education (NiE) programme got a boost when multinational company Flex Penang donated RM10,000. The sponsorship from the company will benefit five schools in Penang. They are SK Pendidikan Khas Persekutuan, SK Batu Kawan, SJK (T) Ladang Juru, Penang Chinese Girls High School and SJK (C) Chung Hwa 3, Prai.

This includes:
- Approximately 110 kilotons of personal protective equipment and other healthcare supplies, including more than 2.5 billion masks worldwide since the start of the pandemic.
- More than 37 kilotons of personal protective equipment and other healthcare supplies inbound to the AMEA region during the first year and a half of the pandemic.
- To date, FedEx has delivered COVID-19 vaccines to more than 50 countries and territories worldwide, including the most recent shipments to communities in South Korea and Vietnam.
In its inaugural year, the Asia Pacific Vaccine Excellence Awards 2021 (AVEA 2021), organized by IMAPAC, celebrates the outstanding achievements of biopharmaceutical organizations, supply chain experts, and the newest technology solutions deployed in Asia for the development and distribution of vaccines.
