More than 10,000 Participants Torched 1 Million Calories at Herbalife Nutrition Day

Herbalife Nutrition (NYSE:HLF), a premier global nutrition company whose purpose is to make the world healthier and happier, celebrated its sixth Herbalife Nutrition Day. As a pre-cursor to Nutrition Month Malaysia in April, the event witnessed over 10,000 participants including Herbalife Nutrition independent members, customers, employees, family and friends coming together in 68 locations across Malaysia to exercise and burn an accumulated total of 1 million calories.

Adding more excitement to the Herbalife Nutrition Day were the presence of Herbalife Nutrition sports ambassadors, Edan Syah, national marathoner and Guinness World Record holder and Irene Chong, national triathlete and bronze medalist at the 29th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games. Both athletes were at Bangi and Puchong respectively to further motivate the participants.

The participation of over 10,000 participants helped to realize the goal of torching 1 million calories. Participants burn approximately 100 calories each during the event by completing two sets of cardio exercises guided by a workout video featuring Samantha Clayton, Vice President, Worldwide Sports Performance and Fitness, Herbalife Nutrition who was once a professional athlete and Olympian before joining the Company.

“We are proud to celebrate Herbalife Nutrition Day for the sixth year running and are extremely pleased to have achieved our goal of torching 1 million calories across the nation. This truly showcases the Company’s commitment towards our purpose of making the world healthier and happier, and it starts right here in our own home country.

Our members’ passion in advocating a healthy active lifestyle is also truly commendable,” said Steven Chin, General Manager/Director of Herbalife Nutrition Malaysia. “Obesity is a very real problem in Malaysia and many ailments are closely linked with this epidemic. Keeping this in mind, we need to take charge of our lives and manage our weight properly. Balanced nutrition and exercise are essential to a healthy weight,
and we hope to spread this message to all Malaysians through this event,” he added.

The accumulative 1 million calories were torched by the participants by combining the completion of the 10-minute workout video session coupled with each venue’s continued engagement in various forms of exercises and fitness programs which included fit dance, Zumba, Tabata, high-intensity interval training, and fun runs.
