Member Spotlight: Oasis International School – Kuala Lumpur

Oasis International School (OIS) is a member of the Oasis International Schools Network, a non-profit organization that is “committed to establishing and maintaining American-style, English-speaking international schools around the world.”

Oasis’ network is based near Memphis, Tennessee in the United States but stretches across the world with schools in 15 different countries. Since its founding over 30 years ago, the Oasis International Schools Network has created a legacy of academic excellence, prestigious college acceptance, and successful alumni.

Oasis International School – Kuala Lumpur is a community of students, parents, and qualified educators, working together as an Oasis network school, to instill in the school community: a passion for truth, a commitment to excellence, and an appreciation for diversity. Veritas, Virtus, Varietas! To accomplish the mission, OIS provides an American education experience that cultivates character, leadership, and innovation. At OIS, the teachers make the difference! All of the teachers, with the exception of the foreign language teachers, have U.S. certifications in their respective subject areas.

The U.S. requires every teacher to complete a set of courses, pass tests, and obtain practical teaching experience before granting them a teaching license with subject area certifications. Ongoing professional development classes and team-building exercises are a regular part of the teacher’s schedule. OIS offers a rigorous academic program that is integrated with technology and a variety of opportunities in the arts. In addition, the OIS Sports Program includes Rugby, CrossFit, Cross Country, Volleyball, Basketball, Soccer, and Swimming.

Oasis International School – Kuala Lumpur seeks to serve the AMCHAM community with an American educational program for students in Kindergarten to 12th grade that is staffed by U.S. certified teachers, created to be academically challenging, integrated with cutting-edge technology, and centered in developing character in our students.
