Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur Did It Again at The 19th Malaysia Tourism Awards

Kuala Lumpur, March 2016 – Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur did it again for the third time, winning the Best Hotel Services Award in 5-star city hotel category, awarded by the Malaysia Tourism Awards 2014/2015 which was held at the Putra World Trade Centre recently.

Held bi-annually since 1987, the Malaysia Tourism Awards are the highest award given in recognition to those who excel in the development of the country’s tourism industry. It also celebrates Malaysia as one of the world’s top tourism destinations, while appreciating the contribution and hard work of the tourism industry’s key players.

The award categories include Best Tourist Attraction, Best Spa, Innovative Shopping Centre, Innovative Restaurant, Best Foreign Tour Operator to name a few. There are also two new categories, namely Best Travel Documentary and Best Online Promotion which made a total of 14 categories of awards. The nominations started in early 2014 and winners were selected based on extensive mystery audits conducted by a panel of judges appointed by the Ministry of Tourism.
