– J&J Malaysia Community Impact responds to calls to assist frontliners in the fight against COVID-19 through fund-raising activities throughout the year.

Johnson & Johnson’s Global Community Impact is focused on supporting and championing the people on the frontlines who are at the heart of delivering care. As the country grappled with the outbreak of COVID-19 in early 2020, Malaysia Community Impact (MCI) responded to calls to support front liners in the first half of 2020 by raising funds and donating PPEs to healthcare professionals. MCI did so by working closely with NGOs such as The Giving Bank, Be My Protector and Malaysia Red Crescent Society. Among the recipients of MCI’s efforts included Hospital Kuala Lumpur and Ministry of International Trade and Industry. MCI and J&J employees banded together through various creative ways, such as a virtual concert entitled “J&J Greatest Gig” and a live virtual Donation Aid for Sabah to raise funds for the purchase of PPEs and food products for the needy, in addition to product donations.

Not forgetting, MCI also focused on our other pillar that is Talent For Good, which helps connect employees to the community by encouraging them to volunteer in identified NGOs based on their skill sets. In November, MCI organized a virtual Scavenger Hunt, in collaboration with Friends to Mankind and Community at Heart, to engage with and encourage employees to volunteer their skills for the community.
