AMCHAM is a vibrant non-profit, private-sector international, business association with more than 1200 members representing about 280 American, Malaysian and other international companies. The Chamber provides relevant business information to its members, actively serves as a platform to represent member’s interests to Malaysian and U.S. stakeholders.


​​The role requires a motivated and proactive Events Specialist who is passionate about event management and looking to deliver quality events.

The Job

  • To manage the annual calendar of programs and deliver high quality, content rich program that expresses the Chamber’s objectives
  • Through AMCHAM’s event platform, enhance the ability of members to share information and exchange ideas and knowledge exchange 
  • To manage all aspects of events: P&L, logistics, budget planning, coordination of sponsorship, event invitations, event marketing, speaker sourcing and invitations, runs-of-show, contract reviews, billings and post-event follow up and other areas related to event planning and execution.
  • Establish and maintain high quality relationships with key stakeholders – partners and sponsors
  • To unitize or establish the necessary standard procedures for events and ensure processes are communicated internally 
  • Review and manage contracts agreed to by management
  • Facilitate and support adoption of virtual platforms, tools and services that enhance the Chamber’s content portfolio 
  • Other related work as assigned by the CEO 

The Person

  • Energetic, resourceful, a self-starter who is results driven
  • At least 3-5 years of proven ability in event management and stakeholder management 
  • Team player who is able to work well with wide variety of people and has the ability to deal with ambiguity
  • Possess a “can do” approach with good communications skills and able to work in a fast-paces environment
  • High proficiency in the English language is required
  • Educational qualification – degree or diploma – is a plus
