Jabil Penang Community Engagement Event – Chinese New Year Outreach

Jabil Penang sits in a busy area of the small island of Penang, a bustling industrial center not far from residential and tourist areas. The site was established in 1995 and since then has grown to be a part of the community. One of Jabil culture is to reach out to the community and embark on various Social Responsibility activities.

On 19th Feb 2016, we celebrated Chinese New Year Outreach event at Pure Lotus Cancer Hospice Compassion. The home is houses several terminally ill cancer patients whom are provided with treatment and medical attention.

A total of 20 Jabilians joined in to support the event .Event kicked off with welcome speech and giving away donations items consists of medical supplies and groceries for the home followed by “AngPows” for the patients.

The patients were brightened up with sing along session with few Chinese New Year numbers and continued with a Tai Chi performance. All present were feasted to their eager taste buds with delicious food menu which were specially prepared for the occasion.

The event came to an end with a thank you and appreciation note from PURE LOTUS CANCER home CEO Madam Ven. Lyan Shih.

All Jabil employee left with a soothing feeling to have spent valuable time with the patients and another accomplishment in our objective to engage with the community.
