We invest in our customers, employees, and communities around the world to break down barriers to opportunity and create an economy that works for more people. We combine our business and policy expertise, capital, and data to advance four universal pillars of opportunity: jobs and skills, small business expansion, neighborhood revitalization, and financial health. In 2019, nearly 73,000 employees volunteered 467,000 hours globally, while earlier this year, in response to COVID-19, we made a $50 million philanthropic commitment to assist those most affected by humanitarian challenges and to support sustainable and innovative solutions for small businesses and underserved communities to recover.

J.P. Morgan’s Philanthropic Work in Malaysia

We focus our grants on workforce readiness programs, taking steps to help narrow skills gaps, integrating industry requirements into training curricula, and ensuring underserved youth have employment pathways into the country’s fast-growing industries. Our grantee SOLS 24/7 is providing training for 100 underserved youths in solar energy, English, basic IT, and soft skills development in order to attain jobs in the solar energy industry. Our partnership with MySkills Foundation trained 300 atrisk youth in electrical, plumbing, air-conditioning, life management, and soft skills and upgraded its curriculum to align with industry requirements.
