Introducing Our New Director of Government Relations – Mr. Hasnul Nadzrin Shah

AMCHAM is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Hasnul Nadzrin Shah as our new Director of Government Relations.

Hasnul is no stranger to AMCHAM. As an active member of the Chamber over the years, he has contributed extensively through his participation in the Government Relations Council and has been a familiar presence in many of our advocacy initiatives. We are thrilled to now welcome him in a leadership capacity.

In his new role, Hasnul will lead AMCHAM’s Government Relations team, strengthening our public policy platform and driving meaningful engagement with key stakeholders to support our members’ interests in Malaysia.

Hasnul brings more than 28 years of experience in government affairs, strategic stakeholder engagement, and policy development. Prior to joining AMCHAM, he served as Director for Government and Regulatory Affairs at IBM, covering key markets in Southeast Asia. He played a pivotal role in shaping policy perspectives in areas such as technology, trade, AI, and ESG. He was also part of IBM’s APAC Government Affairs leadership team and contributed to several global policy groups.

Earlier in his career, Hasnul led strategic initiatives at the Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC), including the development of Malaysia’s national strategy for the creative multimedia industry. His diverse background also includes entrepreneurial ventures and startup experience.

Hasnul holds a degree in Information Systems Analysis and Design from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
