Intel Malaysia

– Over 900,000 volunteer hours recorded, over US$3 million disbursed to communities since 2006. This year, we also contributed an additional RM2.3 million in the fight against COVID-19.

Who we are

Intel Malaysia is the first offshore site for Intel Corporation, with more than US$5B invested since 1972, with over 10,000 employees. It is home to Intel’s largest assembly and test manufacturing facility with an all-Malaysian manufacturing workforce, and the country’s largest product design and development center. It is also one of the only two Intel shared services hubs supporting our operations globally.

Empowering our people to care for our community

The Intel Volunteer Matching Program empowers our employees to volunteer their skills and time in the community whereby Intel Foundation will match US$5 for each hour they volunteered. Since 2006, we have clocked over 900,000 volunteer hours and disbursed over US$3 million to NGOs and schools in Malaysia.

Riding out the waves together during the COVID-19 pandemic

In total, we contributed almost RM2.3 million to our local communities (in Penang and Kedah) in three ‘waves’:

• Wave 1: Medical equipment to hospitals and frontliners

• Wave 2: Daily essential items to underserved communities and NGOs

• Wave 3: Digital thermometers, face masks and hand sanitizers to schools; Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and groceries to the Penang prisons
