AMCHAM is pleased to invite you to join a roundtable discussion with senior representatives from the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) on Tuesday, 17 January 2023.

John Neuffer, President of SIA and Jimmy Goodrich, SIA’s Vice President for Global Policy will provide an global industry update and they are interested to meet with the American business community from the “Silicon Valley of the East” for an in-depth discussion on key issues impacting the semiconductor industry.

Joining the discussion will be Nate Bush, DLA Piper who will also provide insights to the compliance needs of the October 7, Export Controls on Advanced Computing and Semiconductor Manufacturing Items to the People’s Republic of China (PRC) and how these regulations are impacting the industry and provide any updates since the closure of the comment period on Dec 12, 2022

As U.S. businesses align their business models and supply chains to address not only geo-politics but the demands of climate change and energy consumption, this will be a good opportunity to look at recent development in the CHIPs Act, Export Controls and how Malaysia’s operationalizing CPTPP and IPEF can support the industry and linkage to the U.S. – Malaysia ecosystem.
