Economic Outlook: A Conversation with The World Bank

Malaysia is in a good place, The World Bank’s Chief Economist, Rafael Munoz Moreno, Senior Economist, Malaysia, East Asia and Pacific of The World Bank shared his positive perspective about Malaysia’s economic future on March 16, 2016. Mr Moreno said that despite the Government’s oil-related revenue decline last year, GST and subsidy reforms have helped in meeting the Government’s deficit target while lower fuel prices have helped to contain inflation.

Following Mr Moreno’s presentation, Ms. Angela Mancini, Managing Director – Southeast Asia of Control Risks, a seasoned moderator who knew the ropes well to keep the conversation lively by keeping the audience engaged during the Q&A session.

The event was well attended by our membership of about 75 attendees including AMCHAM Board Members. AMCHAM would like to thank Mr Rafael and Ms Angela for their participation in making this event a success.
