Breakfast Talk – Trade Policy Director, U.S. Customs and Border Protection

AMCHAM is delighted to invite members to meet with Mr. John Leonard, Executive Director (Trade Policy and Programs) at the U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s (CBP) headquarters in Washington D.C.

The CBP is responsible for implementing, administrating, and enforcing the trade policies of the U.S. Administration. In doing so, they seek to collaborate with US businesses in Asia-Pacific to increase partnership, receive allegations of unfair or fraudulent trade practices, and share information.

Mr. Leonard’s visit to Malaysia comes at an opportune time where U.S. trade policy is at the forefront of topical issues. The discussion will cover issues such as trade tariffs and remedies, e-commerce, de minimis rules, anti-dumping, IPR enforcement, and working with the ASEAN Single Window.

Mr. Leonard previously served as the CBP’s representative in Singapore, covering 8 countries including Malaysia.
