AMCHAM Healthcare Forum 2019 with Datuk Seri Dr. Haji Dzulkefly bin Ahmad, Minister of Health

AMCHAM is pleased to invite you to our first half-day program for the year, AMCHAM Healthcare Forum 2019 on Thursday, March 28 from 9.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. at the Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur Hotel.

Objective

The purpose of the AMCHAM Healthcare Forum 2019 is to foster a productive public-private dialogue around the role that the private sector can play in delivering enhanced healthcare outcomes for Malaysia, and how this relates to the government’s healthcare strategy. We will be joined by senior officials from the Ministry of Health and other government agencies, as well as leadership from a diverse range of private sector stakeholders in the healthcare sector.

Program

The Pakatan Harapan government’s stated ambition is for total healthcare spending in Malaysia to reach 7% of GDP (around RM 100bn), while significantly improving allocative efficiency so that this spending leads to enhanced healthcare outcomes for the rakyat. To achieve this goal will require continued investments from both the public and private sectors, working in tandem to optimise the assignment of responsibilities and financial resources, and to unleash the productivity gains of a healthy and active citizenry.

There will be two panel discussions throughout this program to share about how private sector initiatives help to increase the access to healthcare in Malaysia, and to identify key policy pillars that must be in place in order to facilitate and encourage private sector investment in a nation’s healthcare sector.

The program will conclude with a VIP luncheon, with a keynote address provided by Datuk Seri Dr. Haji Dzulkefly bin Ahmad, Malaysia’s Minister of Health.
