Essential Services in the Trade Distribution Sector Allowed to Operate during the FMCO 3.0 Period

The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (MDTCA) has released a press statement to address the full closure of the economic and social sectors across the country from 1 to 14 June 2021. During this period, all sectors are not allowed to operate except for the essential economic and service sectors listed by the National Security Council (NSC).

Subsequently, following the announcement by the YB Senior Minister of Defence on 30 May 2021 in relation to the list of essential services allowed to operate during the total lockdown period, there are ten (10) essential services including petrol stations which have been listed as an essential service under the trade distribution sector.

MDTCA as the ministry regulating the trade distribution sector which includes retail, wholesale and distribution has updated the existing MCO Trade Distribution Sector SOPs.
