Driving Plastic Sustainability And Innovation
On the 22nd of July 2019, AMCHAM, in partnership with the Society for Conservation Biology (SCB), held a talk on ‘Driving Plastic Sustainability and Innovation’ with help of special guest Craig Leeson, producer of the documentary, A Plastic Ocean & BNP Paribas Global Sustainability Ambassador.
Coming from an ocean lover who has traveled to various parts of the world, Craig gave an informative explanation on the build-up of waste in our oceans. He started his speech by focusing on microplastic that is harming our marine life, which eventually harms humans through consumption, followed by the steps that companies can take, mainly through legislation and finance departments, to reduce this growing problem.
The audience showed interest and concerns on the topic during the Q&A session at the end of the presentation.
