Dow Malaysia hosted regional Charity Golf Tournament to raise funds

Dow Southeast Asia Charity Challenge continued into its fifth year and had raised USD 130,000 for six charities in five countries – Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand.

The Dow Southeast Asia Charity Challenge aligned with the company’s initiative – to give back to communities it operates in – and continued to draw tremendous support from employees, customers, distributors and partners. This year, the regional global citizenship event raised USD 130,000 for six charities in the region, and over the years, raised close to USD 550,000 for the underprivileged and various causes.

Dow Southeast Asia Charity Challenge’s two approaches to fundraising comprised of a series of employee fundraising activities and a Charity Golf Tournament. Months prior to the Golf Tournament, Dow offices in the region organized their internal fundraising activities including food bazaars, merchandise sales, fashion shows, employee donations before it culminated into the Charity Golf Tournament finale for customers, distributors and partners.

The Charity Golf Tournament this year was hosted by Dow Malaysia on July 21 at the Tropicana Golf and Country Resort at Petaling Jaya, Selangor. With a sold-out situation, about 130 golfers from both Malaysia-based and overseas companies gathered and golf for the meaningful cause.
