Discussion: Global Mobility of Women – The Need for Female Role Models in Global Mobility

While there is a rising demand for a diverse representation of the genders across all industries, statistically, there seems to be a gender gap in international deployment. The final virtual session under AMCHAM’s Women’s Week was held to uncover the factors that go into global mobility for women and why it matters.

The program started off with Stella Huang, Head of HR, Talent and Culture at Shield GEO  presenting on the progress of women in the global workforce and what are the drivers to their ability to be mobile and what are some of the barriers involved. The session continued with a panel discussion comprising of expert speakers, Soon Kuek, General Manager, Sr. Director of Lam Manufacturing Malaysia, Stella Huang, Head of HR, Talent and Culture at Shield GEO and Zulfa Ashidais Zulkifli, Chief People Officer at UEM Sunrise Berhad moderated by Siobhan Das, CEO, AMCHAM.  Each panellists shared their experiences in working globally, travelling to a different country, the cultural differences and how gender difference play there.

And thus, the AMCHAM’s Women’s Week programs come to an end. Special thanks to all our guest speakers and to Boston Scientific for sponsoring this event.
