Christian Whiton, Senior Adviser to State Dept Meets AMCHAM Members

Christian Whiton, an advisor to the transition at the Department of State and a senior advisor in the Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs met with AMCHAM members on May 9th, 2017. Christian’s visit was to Malaysia was to gather feedback from industry players and to get a feel of the business environment in the region. Although, Malaysia is not listed on any foreign policy / bilateral agreements with the U.S., Christian wanted to hear from the AMCHAM on how he can help to feedback to D.C. on areas to better foster U.S. – Malaysia and SEA relations.

We had representation by U.S. MNCs from various industries such as Accenture, Johnson & Johnson, IBM, EY and Chevron. Each of them shared their views and insights which helped Christian to further understand the business climate in Malaysia.
