AMCHAM Thanksgiving Luncheon 2017 & MY AMCHAM CARES Recognition Ceremony

AMCHAM celebrated its’ Thanksgiving Luncheon on November 16, 2017 and we were delighted to have Y. B. Dato’ Seri Ong Ka Chuan, Second Minister of International Trade & Industry and H.E. Kamala Shirin Lakhdhir, U.S. Ambassador to Malaysia to grace the event. It was Dato’ Seri’s first event with AMCHAM and we were honored to have him on this special occasion not only because it was Thanksgiving but it was also MY AMCHAM CARES Recognition Ceremony.

Most companies now recognise CSR as a core component of their business priorities. The development of CSR  in Malaysia has, over time, moved to higher levels and taken on greater levels of mindfulness, such that Malaysia is now recognised as having one of the most engaged economies in the region when it comes to corporate responsibility.

  1.  Accenture Solutions Sdn. Bhd.
  2.  Citibank Bhd.
  3.  Coca-Cola Far East Ltd.

If you’re new to AMCHAM or an existing member but you’ve not heard about MY AMCHAM CARES program, here is some information about the program. MY AMCHAM Cares was launched during Thanksgiving in 2016. MY AMCHAM CARES is not a competition. It provides a basis to benchmark CSR programs, engage with other key stakeholders in CSR, and to share best practices to develop sustainable programs for the future. A set of questionnaires will be sent in the first quarter to all members. The survey will assess a number of program criteria including attention to business objectives and societal needs; creation of long-term economic and social gains; communication and sharing of best practices; and program sustainability. If you’re interested to participate in the MY AMCHAM CARES program 2018 or if you have questions about the program, please contact Ms. Kavita Subramaniam at [email protected]

AMCHAM would like to thank Dato’ Seri Ong Ka Chuan and H.E. Kamala Lakhdhir for their presence and being part of the recognition ceremony.
