Insights into Malaysia’s Talent and Employment Framework: Policy Updates and MYXpats

On 2 July, AMCHAM hosted a Spotlight Session in collaboration with TalentCorp and MYXpats titled Insights into Malaysia’s Talent and Employment Framework: Policy Updates and MYXpats. The session provided attendees with updates on Malaysia’s evolving talent landscape, covering key policy developments including the Revised Employment Pass Salary Policy, the Residence Pass-Talent (RP-T), and TalentCorp’s MySIP initiatives.

The session opened with Asyraful Munzir Ar Alhan, Assistant Vice President, Project Management & Stakeholder Engagement at the Malaysia Expatriate Services Centre (MYXpats Centre), who provided an overview of the Revised Employment Pass Salary Policy and the latest enhancements to the Xpats Gateway platform. His presentation covered the Employment Pass application process, recent policy updates, and available resources to help employers navigate the evolving requirements.

Next, Simon Ang Song Huang, Assistant Vice President, Business Strategy – Internship Facilitation, Graduate and Emerging Talent (GET) at TalentCorp, introduced the National Internship Ecosystem and the 1:3 Internship Policy. He highlighted how the National Structured Internship Programme (MySIP) supports industry-ready talent while outlining the latest policies and tax incentives available to employers.

The final presentation was delivered by Mohd Shakirin Mohd Fauzi, Assistant Vice President, Residence Pass-Talent (RP-T), who shared insights into the Residence Pass-Talent programme, including its key features, application and endorsement process, as well as common application challenges and practical solutions.

The interactive session provided attendees with valuable opportunities to engage directly with the speakers, gain clarity on expatriate employment requirements, and deeper insights on the initiatives supporting Malaysia’s talent development agenda.
