Small Acts, Meaningful Impact: McDermott 2026 CSR Journey

It began with a shared intention: to make a meaningful difference. As 2026 unfolds, the Subsea and Floating Facilities team in Kuala Lumpur reflects on how simple acts of care can create lasting impact. Through our corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts, we continue to demonstrate that giving is not just about contribution, but about compassion, connection, and purpose.

Earlier this year, our team came together to support maternal and infant health at Tunku Azizah Hospital, Kuala Lumpur’s Women and Children Hospital. Caring for an average of 50 newborns daily, many of whom are premature or in vulnerable conditions, the hospital plays a critical role in providing life-saving care. In response, employees contributed generously to a donation drive organized by the Global Women’s Network. With support from various project teams, essential items such as diapers, baby care products, and maternity helped provide comfort and dignity to both mothers and newborns during some of their most challenging moments, while honoring the dedication of healthcare professionals who care for them.

Not long after, that same spirit of giving extended beyond hospital walls during the Ramadan season. Volunteers came across the team came together to prepare and distribute over 200 meals to individuals experiencing homelessness in Kuala Lumpur. While the initiative focused on providing food, it also emphasized the importance of presence, empathy, and human connection. For many recipients, it was not just a meal, but a reminder that they are seen and supported.

These initiatives also strengthened bonds within our team, bringing colleagues together beyond their daily roles and reinforcing shared values of compassion, inclusion, and respect. Each effort, though simple in nature, reflects a deeper commitment to making a positive difference in the communities where we live and work.

Together, these CSR initiatives serve as a reminder that even the smallest actions can create meaningful change. Through continued dedication and collective effort, we look forward to building on this momentum and making an even greater impact in the year ahead.
