Citi Malaysia Celebrates its 20th Anniversary of Global Community Day
Citi celebrates the 20th anniversary of the firm’s Global Community Day (GCD) worldwide and Citi Malaysia proudly joined hands in a series of month-long volunteering initiatives in June across Kuala Lumpur and Penang. More than 900 Citi volunteers came to support the underserved communities with local non-governmental organizations (NGOs).
Throughout June, our Citi volunteers contributed to various impactful activities including surplus food collection and distribution with Kechara Soup Kitchen Society Malaysia (KSK Society) to charitable homes, tutoring English and Mathematics for primary school children and large community clean-ups with Buku Jalanan Chow Kit (BJCK), assisting Yayasan Chow Kit (YCK) with relocation logistics, packing and transitioning to a new building, large food donation drives to elderly residents and low-income families with the Penang Community Care and The Penang and Province Wellesley Silver Jubilee Home.
Vikram Singh, Citi Malaysia’s Country Officer expressed his immense gratitude, “Over the past two decades, our collective efforts during GCD have made a meaningful difference, and this year is no exception. In celebration of this 20-year legacy, we are proud to partner with several inspiring local NGOs who share our commitment to social impact” He added, “I am incredibly proud of our Citi volunteers for stepping up with such heart and purpose throughout the month of June, in both Kuala Lumpur and Penang. Kindness is powerful and your service has created meaningful and lasting impact to the most needy sections of society.”
