The new UPS facility in Johor introduces Next Day Delivery services, enabling next-business-day shipping across Asia Pacific and two-day delivery to the U.S. and Europe. The investment includes a package center and bonded warehouse, strategically located within the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ), further enhancing speed, reliability, and market access for businesses operating in and beyond the region.
This expansion comes at a time when Johor’s economic momentum is accelerating. In the first quarter of 2025 alone, the state recorded RM27.4 billion in approved investments, with another RM23 billion already in the pipeline. Johor is on track to reach RM50–60 billion in total investments by year-end, firmly positioning itself as one of the top three investment destinations in Malaysia.
“UPS’s continued investment in Malaysia underscores the strong confidence U.S. businesses have in the Malaysian market and highlights Johor’s strategic importance in enhancing regional connectivity,” said Dato’ Siobhan Das, Chief Executive Officer of AMCHAM. “As the leading voice of American businesses in Malaysia, AMCHAM is proud to support initiatives that strengthen supply chain resilience, drive innovation, and create cross-border growth opportunities. We also encourage more Malaysian companies to capitalize on local opportunities emerging from increased foreign direct investment, and to explore investment prospects in the United States—cultivating a dynamic, mutually beneficial economic partnership.”
AMCHAM congratulates UPS on this exciting new chapter and looks forward to continued collaboration in strengthening Malaysia’s position as a competitive and connected global business hub.
