Meeting with Health Transformation Office and AMCHAM’s Health and Lifesciences Committee

On April 21st, AMCHAM’s Healthcare & Lifesciences Committee (HLSC) had the privilege of meeting with Dr. Yap Wei Aun, CEO of the Health Transformation Office, and Dr. Mahesh Appannan, Director of the Digital Health Division, along with their team at the Ministry of Health in Putrajaya.

Chaired by James Tan, Vice Chair of HLSC, the discussion focused on MOH’s short- and long-term priorities, the role of AI and digital health transformation, the implementation of diagnosis-related groups (DRG) as part of healthcare financing reforms, and the Rakan KKM initiative.

We are truly grateful to Dr. Yap and Dr. Mahesh for taking the time to engage in this meaningful dialogue with the Chamber. Strengthening this collaboration is a vital step in enhancing public-private partnerships and supporting Malaysia’s healthcare transformation journey.

The HLSC looks forward to continued engagement with the Ministry as we begin planning for the AMCHAM Healthcare Forum 2025.
