FedEx Celebrates Continued Recognition as a Leading Employer and Sustainability Advocate

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, December 9, 2024 – Federal Express Corporation, one of the world’s largest express transportation companies, announced its achievement as one of the ‘Best Companies to Work for in Asia 2024’ for the fourth consecutive year, and the newly introduced ‘Sustainable Workplace Award 2024’ and ‘Happiest Workplace Certification 2024’ by HR Asia. These awards underscore the company’s unwavering commitment to fostering an exceptional workplace culture and implementing innovative practices to promote sustainability within the workplace. Additionally, the company was also honoured with the ‘2024 MY AMCHAM Cares’ award presented by the American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM) in Malaysia for five years in a row.

The HR Asia awards are based on comprehensive employee surveys that evaluate workplace culture, employee engagement, and organizational performance. FedEx Malaysia’s consistent recognition reflect its dedication to creating a supportive and empowering environment for its team members, prioritizing their well-being and professional growth.

“Receiving these prestigious awards consecutively is a testament to our ongoing commitment to creating a workplace where our team members feel valued, empowered, and inspired to make a difference,” said Tien Long Woon, managing director of FedEx Malaysia. “At FedEx, we are dedicated to empowering our team members and providing them with the resources they need to succeed both professionally and personally. We believe that a positive workplace culture is essential for driving innovation and sustainability. These recognitions motivate us to continue raising the bar in delivering excellence and creating a meaningful impact both within our organization and in our communities.”

FedEx was recognized by HR Asia for its initiatives that focus on employee welfare, including flexible work arrangements, global career opportunities, health and wellness programs, and platforms that encourage open communication. The company was also commended for its commitment to sustainability through efforts like energy-efficient practices, waste reduction campaigns, and employee-led initiatives such as recycling and tree-planting. These awards underscore the company’s dedication to team member well-being, environmental sustainability, and community impact.

FedEx was recognized by AMCHAM Malaysia for its ongoing commitment to driving corporate social responsibility (CSR) in the country. A notable part of these efforts includes its collaboration with local non-profit Treat Every Environment Special (TrEES), now in its second year, to expand an urban community garden in the Klang Valley. This 1,000-square-foot garden supplies fresh vegetables to underprivileged communities, improving access to nutritious food, and promoting urban sustainability. FedEx team members contributed by volunteering to plant, harvest, sort, and distribute the produce, ensuring the initiative’s long-term success. FedEx is dedicated to empowering future generations by supporting the FedEx Express / JA International Trade Challenge, where more than 9,200 Malaysian students have benefitted over the past 16 years by developing entrepreneurial skills and global trade knowledge. Additionally, FedEx supports the Young Enterprise Program by Junior Achievement Malaysia, which provides hands-on experience in business management, inspiring Malaysian youth to become the next generation of leaders.
