Throughout the month of June 2024, Malaysians came together to participate in this vibrant campaign, which included diverse activities designed to promote the goodness of an active lifestyle and good nutrition. From insightful health talks to engaging group workout sessions, nutrition booths and exciting lucky draws, Herbalife curated an array of events inspiring healthier living.

Held in Ipoh, Kuantan, Kuala Terengganu, Melaka, Muar, Batu Pahat, Johor Bahru, Miri, Sarikei and many more cities nationwide, the ‘Burn 1 Million Calories’ campaign’ wrapped up in Kuala Lumpur with over 2,000 participants on site, shedding more than 1 million calories in 3 hours. The campaign enabled Malaysians to partake in a variety of physical activities, including running, walking, cycling, swimming, Zumba and trampoline workouts. These activities were strategically planned to encourage widespread participation and demonstrate the fun and benefits of maintaining an active lifestyle.

Steven Chin, Senior Director/General Manager of Herbalife Malaysia and Singapore, said, “As the #1 brand in the world in weight management and wellbeing[1], we are committed to inspiring Malaysians to shape up, look and feel better as well as live their best lives. This initiative is especially timely, given the recent findings of the Ministry of Health’s National Health and Morbidity Survey 2023, which revealed that over half of Malaysians are obese or overweight (54.4%) and 49.9% lead sedentary lifestyles. Through these efforts, we aim to help address the rising rates of lifestyle-induced NCDs and obesity, demonstrating that achieving a healthier lifestyle is possible. Through a community-based approach, we aim to significantly amplify our impact across diverse communities nationwide.”

One of the participants of the Burn 1 Million Calories campaign, Mohamad Azrie Rosly, aged 33, commented, “Participating in the campaign has been an eye-opener. Activities like Zumba and kickboxing have transformed staying active into a fun and engaging experience, demonstrating that adopting a healthier lifestyle can be truly enjoyable. Taking a break from work to get active benefits my well-being, and also contributed to the collective goal of burning 1 million calories across Malaysia.”

The Burn 1 Million Calories campaign is a key component of Herbalife’s broader mission to foster a culture of health and wellness among Malaysians. The campaign ignited a nationwide movement, encouraging individuals and communities to strive towards a healthier society. With a strong foundation in science-backed nutrition and community wellness, Herbalife continues exploring innovative initiatives to support Malaysians’ health.
