Cloud Services & Data Centres Roundtable with YB Tuan Gobind Singh Deo, Minister of Digital

On 24 May, AMCHAM hosted a powerful roundtable with YB Tuan Gobind Singh Deo, Minister of Digital, and his team. The discussion focused on the future of Malaysia’s digital economy, with a particular emphasis on cloud services, cybersecurity tailored to AI/5G, productivity-enhancing policies, and more. We were also honored to have H.E. Edgard D. Kagan, U.S. Ambassador to Malaysia, and other U.S. Embassy representatives in KL.

With member companies that straddle various parts of the digital ecosystem, today’s discussions centered around three major areas – enhancing the regulatory framework for digital services and cloud computing in Malaysia, positioning Malaysia as a secure and reliable hub for data storage and processing, and promoting innovation through advanced digital policies and infrastructure within the Malaysian government.

Under the Chatham House Rule, members could provide the Minister with insights, ideas, and concerns. We deeply appreciated hearing directly from YB Tuan Gobind Singh and noted his sincere commitment to listening to stakeholders. AMCHAM looks forward to further productive engagements
