Keysight Empowers Tomorrow’s Innovators Through Girls In Engineering and Technology (GET) Program

PENANG, Malaysia. October 7, 2023

Keysight Technologies is a leading technology company that delivers market-leading design, emulation, and test solutions to help accelerate innovation to connect and secure the world.

Bridging the gender gap in the engineering field and championing STEM education for future innovators, Keysight celebrates the graduation of budding female innovators as they proudly graduated from the Girls in Engineering and Technology (GET) 2023 program.

GET is a year-long program, designed to encourage girls to pursue studies and careers in engineering and technology. GET helps the girls to learn technical skills in software, physical computing and data visualization with Python. In addition, the GET girls also develop soft skills such as leadership, resilience and adaptability, facilitated by successful female role models, namely the women engineers and technical professionals from multinationals and local companies in Penang.

These future innovators recently marked a successful completion of an empowering program that is specially designed to nurture their passion to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) education, instil confidence and break down gender barriers.

Before the commencement of the graduation ceremony, the day kick-started with a Project Showcase session that provided an avenue for the young innovators to display their successfully completed tech-based projects that they were working on and confidently presented to the visitors.

Patron of GET Dato’ Shidah Ahmad from Keysight Technologies said it’s inspiring to see the increase in the number of students in GET over the past 3 years, which is a great indication that there are more and more young ladies interested in pursuing a future in Engineering and Technology.

More than 200 visitors comprising industry partners, mentors, teachers, parents, and graduates attended the project showcase and graduation ceremony.

Also present to grace the event were Deputy Minister of Education Lim Hui Ying, Deputy Chief Minister II of Penang Jagdeep Singh, State Youth, Sports and Health Exco Daniel Gooi, CEO of Penang Science Cluster, Dato’ Ooi Peng Ee as well as leaders from various technology companies.
