U.S. Citizen Town Hall and Passport/Notarial Services

The American Citizen Services (ACS) Unit at the U.S. Embassy in Kuala Lumpur will host a U.S. citizen town hall in Penang on Thursday, September 7, 2023, at 3:00PM.  Their team will provide an overview of their consular services for U.S. citizens in Malaysia and conduct a Q&A session.  All attendees must register in advance using the link below.

Following the town hall, ACS staff will offer a limited number of passport and notarial appointments for U.S. citizens in Penang.  Please see below for details regarding these services and appointments before requesting your slot.  If demand for appointments exceeds their capacity, appointment slots will be filled on a first come, first served basis.  Please note that all fees for passport and/or notarial services must be paid via banker’s cheque.  More information about payment requirements will be sent in the appointment confirmation email.

Passport Appointments

Passport appointments at this event will be limited to U.S. citizens required to use the DS-11 passport application form, which must be submitted in person to a Consular Officer.  U.S. citizens eligible to apply with the DS-82 passport application form (most adult applicants) should utilize our passport renewal by mail program.  For more information on passport applications, including criteria for using each application form, required supporting documents, and fees, please visit the website: https://my.usembassy.gov/passports/.  Consular Report of Birth Abroad (CRBA) applications will not be accepted at this event.

Notarial Appointments

Payment for notarial seals is per seal.  You must accurately identify the number of seals that you require to ensure your banker’s cheque payment is in the correct amount.  For more information on the notarial services offered, please visit the website: https://my.usembassy.gov/services/notarials/

Please register your interest here to receive further details on the venue, book a passport or notarial appointment slot if needed, and to submit any questions in advance.  This Town Hall event is limited to U.S. citizens.
