Political Outlook: What to Expect after Johor State Election – VIRTUAL

AMCHAM held a discussion on Johor’s political outlook following the recent Johor state election on March 12, 2022, and the subsequent outcomes stemming from it.

Joining AMCHAM CEO Siobhan Das for the discussion were Tricia Yeoh, CEO at Institute for Democracy and Economic Affairs (IDEAS), and Ibrahim Suffian, Program Director at the Merdeka Center for Opinion Research.

The analysis was a mixture of Ibrahim’s data analysis of survey responses by the Merdeka Center and Tricia’s analytics and observations based on IDEAS’ research – giving the attendees a holistic, data-backed view of the implications of the Johor election, what it means politically for the all coalitions and parties involved and as well as what we can expect in the near future for Malaysia socially and economically.
