AMCHAM was invited to a briefing this morning on the “Provision of Employee Accommodation for Industries under the Manufacturing Sector” organized by the Ministry of International Trade & Industry (MITI Malaysia). YBhg. Datuk Bahria Mohd Tamil, Deputy Secretary General (Investment) from MITI delivered the opening remarks while En. Wan Ismail Wan Ibrahim Director of the Labor Standards Division, Ministry of Human Resources and TPr Dr. Alias Rameli, Director Research and Development Division PLANMalaysia, Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT) presented the rationale behind the regulations as well as in-depth information on the certification process.

AMCHAM is appreciative of all the effort undertaken by the government through MITI by continuously engaging and hosting briefings to increase awareness as well as to inform companies of these regulations for better worker welfare in Malaysia.
