SUMMARY:Return to Work Initiatives
DESCRIPTION:The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has touched nearly every aspect of the working world\, with occupational health and safety (OHS) risks that have emerged as a result of measures put in place to mitigate the spread of the virus in the workplace. Shifts to new forms of working arrangements\, such as the widespread reliance on teleworking have\, for example\, presented many opportunities for workers but also pose OHS issues\, including psychosocial risks. \nThe recent decision by the Government to remove the 30% limit for management staff to work in the office as of 1st April 2021 is a positive step towards reviving the economy. However\, employers must be responsible and undertake safety protocols to ensure that the workplace is free from contamination as well as to curb any potential spread of COVID-19. In addition to this\, they have to ensure their employees are ready to return to work\, both mentally and physically. \nIn this session\, we ask how corporates are taking a phased approach to bring more employees back to the workplace where everyone can continue to be productive and feel safe not just physically\, but also mentally\, as people grapple with the new normal of hybrid work environments and uncertain changes to work-life balance. \nJoin us in this session as we bring together\, Dr. Richard Jones\, Regional Medical Director\, South East Asia Region\, International SOS\, Sugunah Verumandy\, Country Human Resource Director of HSBC Bank (Malaysia) Berhad\, Dr. Rohini Kamalanathan van Hoboken\, Senior Director\, Western Digital Tech and Regional Center (M) Sdn. Bhd.\, and Lee Koh Wing\, Director of Corporate Services Intel Malaysia & South East Asia\, to discuss their approaches and best practices in returning people back to work. \nThis session is brought to you by the recently established Human Resources Committee at AMCHAM. \nEVENT DETAILS \nDate: Tuesday\, 4 May 2021 \nTime: 3:00pm – 4:00pm \nPlatform: MS Teams Meeting \nTICKETS \nThis event is free for AMCHAM Members. SUMMARY:APAC Investment Outlook
DESCRIPTION:The Asia-Pacific\, like other regions across the world\, has been hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic and looks ahead to recovering from the effects of this global crisis. Experts acknowledge that recovery outlook will vary by country depending on infection rates and containment measures\, roll-out of effective vaccination programs\, policy responses\, reliance on contact-intensive activities\, and external demand. However\, 2020 was also a great year for investors\, with equity market benchmarks in the US hitting new highs\, supported by strong earnings growth among tech stocks and pharmaceutical companies. \nIn 2021\, with a new administration in place in the United States\, what will the investment outlook for the Asia-Pacific region look like? Where will the recovery be and what will be the engine of growth needed? \nJoin our panel of experts who will share their thoughts on investment trends in the region and the impact of economic policy and recovery\, stimulus initiatives\, and market sentiments on those trends. \nRef: Navigating the Pandemic: A Multispeed Recovery in Asia (imf.org) \n*CANCELLATION POLICY: No refunds will be provided for cancellations. Replacements will be accepted. \nFor any enquires please contact the AmCham Programming and Events Team.
