DESCRIPTION:UK-Based Open Computing Alliance (OCA) together with AmCham jointly organized a Half-Day Seminar on The benefits\, regulation and managing of outsourcing of IT Services for the banking industry in Malaysia. \nThe agenda focused on the pressing issues facing the banking industry in Malaysia. As technology advances through innovation\, risk management and outsourcing are providing new ways for banks to use technology. Non- core bank Services may now be outsourced using Cloud Computing to provide greater flexibility and economy. It also looked at the current issues around data sovereignty and governance. \nThe discussion focused on risk management\, policy and compliance issues. And attended by 40+ participants comprising of members and non-members from various local and foreign financial services sector. \nAmCham would like to thank the speakers who took time to present: Chan Yoon\, Regional Attorney of Microsoft Asia Pacific & Japan\, Michael Mudd\, Secretary-General\, Asia Pacific of The Open Computing Alliance and Chen Hong Sze\, Associate of Wong & Partners a Member Firm of Baker and McKenzie International. \nLastly\, Thank You to Michael Mudd of OCA for co-organizing the Seminar at AmCham’s Executive Office.

In this dialogue session\, Ambassador Yun shared the U.S. perspective on the economic and broader impact of the agreement on the bilateral relationship. Also invited were representatives from Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers – FMM and ACCCIM.
