SUMMARY:Navigating the Rise of Cyberattacks across APAC
DESCRIPTION:As the Asia Pacific accelerates efforts to digitize their economies\, the risk of cyberattacks increases. According to IBM’s Security X-Force Threat Intelligence Index\, APAC was the most attacked region in 2022\, accounting for 31% of attacks globally\, and the World Economic Forum (WEF) has declared the region as “the new ‘ground zero’ for cybercrime incidents.” In Malaysia\, organizations across industries faced over 74\,000 attacks per day in 2023 alone. \nAt the same time\, emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) are adding to the cybersecurity threats organizations are facing on a daily basis. The global cost of these threats could triple from US$8.4 trillion to US$24 trillion by 2027.
