Join the Energy Transition Committee (ETC) – Shape Malaysia’s Sustainable Future!
The Energy Transition Committee (ETC) is actively seeking passionate, forward-thinking professionals to join its mission to drive Malaysia’s transition to a low-carbon economy.
Established in March 2023 after AMCHAM’s CleanTech Forum in collaboration with the U.S. Embassy in Malaysia, the ETC is dedicated to positioning Malaysia as a key player in the global energy transition. As the country aims for net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, the committee provides a platform to engage with critical issues and accelerate the adoption of clean energy solutions.
What Do We Advocate For?
As a member of the ETC, you will be part of a collective effort to drive forward the following key advocacy priorities:
- Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS)
We advocate for the development and integration of robust CCS technologies to manage and reduce both locally produced and imported CO2 emissions, helping Malaysia meet its sustainability and climate goals. - Progressive Policy and Legal Frameworks
We work to support and develop a comprehensive legal framework that fosters the growth of a competitive, innovative, and sustainable clean energy sector in Malaysia. This includes advocating for policies that enable large-scale energy transition and promote long-term environmental sustainability. - Hydrogen as a Key Energy Solution
We recognize hydrogen as a transformative energy source for Malaysia’s future and advocate for its development across various sectors. This includes supporting the establishment of a hydrogen economy, focusing on production, storage, distribution, and its use in transportation, industry, and power generation.
What We Do
The ETC holds monthly meetings on the second Friday of every month, where we discuss pressing issues in energy transition and renewable energy. These meetings also serve as a platform for various initiatives on topics including hydrogen, CCS as well as emerging technologies across the Energy Transition space and exploring the growth potential in Malaysia. As a member, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with industry leaders, policymakers, and experts to actively shape Malaysia’s energy strategy.
Chair of the ETC:
