Survey for the New Industrial Masterplan (NIMP)

The Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) is currently in the process of preparing the New Industrial Master Plan (NIMP), which will chart the future direction of industrial development in Malaysia, for the period 2021 to 2030.  In tandem to this, MIGHT has been appointed by MITI to conduct a study for the New IMP.  The study will involve collecting inputs from various industrial sectors to formulate strategies and initiatives.  Please refer to the attached document from MITI for more information regarding MIGHT’s appointment.

As an integral part of the study, The Malaysian Industry-Government Group for High Technology (MIGHT) is required to conduct a survey to gather inputs from the industry players.  These inputs will serve to facilitate the preparation of the Government’s New Industrial Masterplan 2021-2030 policy document.

For the purpose of this survey, MITI wishes to seek the Chambers of Commerce and Industry members’ inputs to gather information related to the development of the following sectors ;

  1. Education & Training sector
  2. Manufacturing Related Services
  3. Business & Professional Services
  4. Research and Development industry

The survey is structured into 5 sections, namely (i) Demographic Profile; (ii) Industry’s insights (issues, challenges, cross industry collaboration and prioritisation of new & emerging areas/technologies) and (iii) 4th IR and preliminary assessment of COVID-19 impact.  It contains 40 questions and will take 17 minutes to complete.

Your kind assistance to respond to this survey before 21st July 2020 is appreciated so that your views and suggestions can be captured for consideration.  Should you come from association that represents the industry, your association’s response as well as circulation of the survey amongst your members is encouraged. Please be assured that all finding and information given in survey will be treated with confidence and will only be used for the purpose of this study.;
