On March 17th, members of AMCHAM were invited by Bank Negara Malaysia for a follow up meeting with regards to the FEA policies in response to the Chamber’s efforts to get more clarity on some outstanding areas.
This was a welcomed opportunity to work in close consultation with team at the Foreign Exchange Administration Department to ensure successful implementation of the new policy measures. In support of some of the queries that are have arisen, the meeting resulted in identifying some specific information the BNM team requires to address the concerns of companies.For specifics around this information, Members are encourage to contact AMCHAM directly.
Bank Negara Malaysia also acknowledged, and agreed to, undertake exploratory discussions with AMCHAM and MIDA to protect and promote the flow of foreign direct investment (FDI). Bank Negara Malaysia is in support of assisting and retaining high-quality FDIs in Malaysia.
